The Pokémon Company International has announced a range of celebrations for the Pokémon 20th Anniversary. These parallel the scale of celebrations seen for the Pokémon 10th Anniversary.

Fans are encouraged to use the hashtag #Pokemon20 to share their experiences with Pokémon. It is hinted that Pokémon Company International's favorite submissions will get some kind of prize. In the United States, new ad for Pokémon will air during Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, February 7, which will also promote this hashtag.

The official website also includes an interactive timeline, detailing the important Pokémon events in each year of the franchise's existence. The timeline can be found here.

Due to the amount of content announced, there are several Bulbanews articles on these announcements. A full list are included under the "See also" section.

Mythical Pokémon distributions

Mythical Pokémon will be distributed throughout 2016 via GameStop in the US and the Nintendo Network. Other distribution methods are unknown at this time.

On Pokémon Day, Toys "R" Us stores in the United States will have special foil Pikachu and Magikarp TCG cards from the new Generations set, a Pokémon activity book, and a poster with the original 151 Pokémon from Generation I. They will be available until supplies last.
