It has been announced that Charizard can Mega Evolve into one of two forms. Mega Charizard Y is a Fire/Flying-type Pokémon with the Ability Drought. It can Mega Evolve using the Mega Stone Charizardite Y. It's Special Attack stat grows after Mega Evolving. It has a height of 5'07" and a weight of 221.6 lbs.

Mega Charizard X is a Fire/Dragon-type Pokémon with the new Ability Tough Claws. It can Mega Evolve using the Mega Stone Charizardite X. Its Attack stat grows after Mega Evolving. It has a height of 5'07" and a weight of 243.6 lbs. It is the Flame Pokémon and can use the attack Dragon Tail.

A new trailer has been released featuring Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y, with them using attacks.
