Herman Cain once again quoted Pokémon the Movie 2000 in a speech submitting his resignation from the 2012 Republican Presidential Race yesterday. This time, he correctly attributed the quote to its original source.
Toward the end of his speech, Cain said,
“ I believe these words came from the Pokémon movie. Life can be a challenge. Life can seem impossible. It’s never easy when there’s so much on the line. But you and I can make a difference. There’s a mission just for you and me. ” | ||

The line is from the song The Power of One. In August, Cain used the same quotation to end a Republican debate, but did not attribute it to Pokémon.
He first attributed the quote to "a poet," and later claimed he had heard the song over a montage following the 2000 Summer Olympics.
While Cain was in some polls a frontrunner, it is not known how many of his supporters were Pokémon fans. An unofficial poll on Bulbagarden showed he had the support of two out of 32 BMGf members.
