Junichi Masuda, the director of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, said in his "Director's Column" feature of the Game Freak Web site Wednesday that he wants the games to allow players to play and communicate internationally via Wi-Fi.
He said such a feature has not yet been integrated into the games, but he intends to include it. He confirmed the games are still far from being completed, but they will utilize all of the Nintendo DS's functions, including the touch screen, local wireless, two-screen and Wi-Fi capabilities.
Masuda has previously composed music for the Pokémon games. He designed the Hoenn region.
