The 2012 VGCS Winter Battle has been announced. Participants will receive a Custap Berry. The Custap Berry will be received in the Dream World. The 2012 VGCS Winter Battle is a Wi-Fi Double Battles tournament. Players may register from now until Dec. 13, 2012 at 6:59 p.m. EST. A copy of Pokémon Black 2 or White 2 and a Game Sync ID registered in the Global Link is required to participate.
There are only 50,000 available spots for the tournament. This tournament will run from Dec. 13, 2012 until Dec. 17, 2012. The Pokémon that may not be used in this tournament are: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Chatot, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect. Any Pokémon nicknames for Pokémon will not be displayed. The item Soul Dew may not be held.
There will be two divisions. The Junior/Senior division is for players born in 1998 or later. The Masters division is for players born in 1997 or earlier. In each division, 128 European participants and 128 North American participants will receive Championship Points, which is usable toward qualifying for the 2013 Pokémon Video Game World Championships. The top 16 North American players receive a first-round bye in the Regional Championships. The qualifications for European players are unknown at this time. The results will be announced Dec. 20, 2012.
